Shopping in Edwardian Lymm

Lymm is a popular destination for visitors at any time.  There’s great walks, and great places to eat, drink and shop, all set in a picturesque village with the old Cross at its heart.  But your trip wouldn’t be complete without paying a visit to discover the Lymm Story at Lymm Heritage Centre.

In fact why not make it your first stop?  You can pick up a map or a trail and also learn so much about the village’s fascinating history. Where else would you find a dinosaur and football legend Pele in the same exhibition?  We’ll explain!  Discover why we have both a horse’s head and a hare’s foot on display.

For history buffs looking to dig deep into local history we have 3,000 images and documents online on a touchscreen plus interactive displays about Lymm’s many trades and  traditions as well as its unique transport heritage. We are also a family friendly attraction. There’s a free kids’ activity book with quizzes and puzzles that will you take round the Centre and the village. Meet our dinosaur, search for fossils, build a LEGO icebreaker, drive the loco on our ship canal layout, try the floor jigsaw challenge. You can even get dressed up and have your photo taken in the stocks!

Best of all it’s FREE, though of course we always welcome donations and new friends.
